Why I Named My Blog What I Did + An Awesome Blog Post
I suppose y'all can see now why I named my blog, "Caleigh's Random Thoughts." Even after only 4 days, I'm already all over the place. So far there's a welcome to the blog post, a Happy Mother's Day post, a Southern post, and a recipe. This is just one example of my thought process on a regular basis. In fact, when I decided to start a blog, I got the classic "Welcome to My Blog" post written out, as well as the "Happy Mother's Day" post. That was super easy. On Mother's Day afternoon, I'm standing in the kitchen, washing dishes, when suddenly it hits me. What now? What do I write about now? I started laughing, because this is so like my personality. I get the slightest idea about something, and jump in gung-ho. Then I ask questions. Like, in this case: "Okay, I've started a blog. Cool. What do I post about?" Well, Daddy was standing in the kitchen when I had my sudden outburst of laughter. He, naturally, asked me what I was laughing about. "What do I post about?" I asked. Dad looked at me like I had two heads. "You didn't think about this before hand?" "Well, yeah....um....no?" He just shook his head. So yes, I am just winging it when it comes to this blog. Well, if I'm honest, I'm winging it when it comes to my life too😅. But hey, my blog will never get boring! I do plan to do more "Southernisms" and recipes. Also, I am open to suggestions! If you have an idea for my blog, please tell me so in the comments! I love hearing from y'all.
Today's blog post is going to be for all the homeschooled teen gals out there. My grandma sent me an email yesterday to tell me she was enjoying my blog (Thanks, Grandma!). She also had found a blog from a pastor's wife titled "5 Things I Wish I Could Say To Every 16 Year-Old Homeschooled Girl." Y'all, this post was AMAZING. It was so insightful, and truly a gift from God in what I needed to hear that day. So, I wanted to share this post with y'all, as it is so, so good. I encourage you to check it out here.
In other news.... I am thinking about starting a weekly prayer request posts. You can leave your requests in the comments, and I'll post them every week (unless there are no requests). What do y'all think?

Hi, Caleigh! I just found your blog thru Ellen's and thought I would say 'hi'!
ReplyDeleteI am the same way (though I don't have a blog--yet ;)), and I totally have those situations where I'm just like "WHY didn't I plan this whole thing thru???" *shakes head at self*
I love the idea of prayer requests posts! Sounds awesome!!
And a post you could do is a Q&A post. (I love asking questions.)
I love your blog and I'm so glad I decided to stop by! <3

DeleteYes!! It's such a good idea! I'm going to do that in the *very* near future!
DeleteGreat post! (WHAT?! You already have 12 followers via blogger. It took me months to get to 16 followers via blogger. ((although I have more via email))) Just goes to show you how great your blog is. <3

Sounds like a great plan! I had the same problem, but by God's grace, I've posted almost every week (I've taken blog breaks twice). I currently write all ideas in a notebook and when I have no ideas, I go back and see what I've wrote. (I am currently doing WAY too many book reviews.) Like Sarah Grace said, a Q & A would be fun. I've did one last May and am planning on another one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lilly! That's a very good idea about the notebook! Lol maybe it'll help my case of scatterbrain!

I already love your blog! Keep up the great work! I can understand being random! I sometimes post up to 3 posts per day, and sometimes I go a week without posting(which I feel bad about). But anyway, I'm super excited for your upcoming posts!
