How long did it take for you to think up your blog name? Um, about 5 seconds? I was a little pressured; my dad is sitting at the computer and goes, "Okay, what's the name?" I really had no clue, so I just said, "Caleigh's Random Thoughts." So yeah, not long.
What's your favorite memory? This is by far the hardest question. I have been blessed with SO many good memories. I really don't have a favorite memory, however, one stands out in my mind as a really, really good one. Every year our previous church (we moved to a different church this past January) would go on a missions trip to Cuba. I think it was in 2017 that Pastor Adonis (a pastor in Cuba) and his interpreter were able to travel to North Carolina to visit my church. My dad went on this same mission trip to in 2009, and he had spoken very highly of Pastor Adonis (pronounced Doe-nis). I had heard so much about this pastor, and it was super cool to get to meet him in person. Not only did they visit my church, but, due to my pastor having a meeting that Sunday afternoon, both the pastor and the interpreter were able to come to my house to spend the afternoon. It was so cool being able to talk to this true man of God (through Josรฉ the interpreter). I was able to play a couple hymns on the piano, and he sang along in Spanish. So yes, it was definitely a moment I will cherish forever.
What's your favorite time of day? Probably sunset, preferably on a summer night. Some of my best memories were eating watermelon while watching the sunset.
What's your favorite type of book to read? Probably a novel. The Andi Carter series is a prime example of this!
What classic fiction character are you the most like? Ooh, this is hard. Either Diana Barry from Anne of Green Gables, or Mitch Carter, Andi Carter's older brother. Easy going personality, but protective of friends and family.
Do you like to pet every animal you see? Absolutely! Obviously, not bugs, but pretty much every other animal, yes.
Have you ever wished book characters were real people you knew? If so, which ones would be at the top of your list? Yesyesyes. I think about this ALL THE TIME. Andi Carter, and...you guessed it, Anne.
Do you ever read more than one book at the same time (not like at the exact same time- obviously :-) -, but starting one before you finish another up)? Yes, but it's kind of rare. I try to finish up one book before I start another, but sometimes, if I've bought several books at the same time, I can't resist cracking open more than one.
Do you like black and white or color TV shows better? Probably black and white. I Love Lucy and Andy Griffith are two of my favorites.
What exotic animal would you choose for a pet (if any animal was legal to keep :D)? Ooh, that's a good question. Probably a giraffe (if I could fit it in my house, lol). I am very tall (5'9"). Last year's volleyball season, a girl on my team made me a sign for one of my games. It said: "Fear the giraffe." If you know me, you know I'm pretty laid back about teasing about my height. I thought the sign was hilarious!
What is one unique or interesting fact about yourself? Okay, this might be a little weird, but it is definitely interesting, lol! The first time I drove in the car with my Driver's Ed teacher, I ran over a squirrel within the first 15 minutes of driving. Oops. I didn't mean to of course, but my teacher had drilled it into the students head that if a squirrel ran out in front of the car, you were not to slam on the brakes or swerve. I believe her exact words were, "I don't want to go flyin' through the windshield." Well, one did indeed run out in front of me, and I hit it ๐ข. I've also hit two more since then. Oh, and my teacher's reaction when I hit the squirrel? "Well, you hit Squiggy." I also got a big thumbs up for not slamming on the brakes *shakes head slowly*.
Can you do your own hair or does your mom or a sister do it? I am most certainly not a hairstylist. I can pull it up into a ponytail, or a bun, and I can do a simple braid (although my hair is currently too short to make a braid). That's about it. My mom does my hair if I want something more complicated.
Have you been outside of the country? No, and I've never flown on an airplane before either. I would love to travel to a different country, though!
Has anyone assumed that you are something you actually aren't (ex: mother)? Because of my height, people have mistaken me for being a lot older than I actually am (once, when I was 14, someone asked if I was 20 years old. Yikes!). Although no one has specifically asked me if I was a mother, I'm sure people have thought I was old enough to be one. I have, however, been mistaken for my mother. One time, I had a family member that I hadn't seen in a long time come up to me and start thanking me for something, and I had no idea what they were talking about! I then realized they thought I was my mom! Oops.
What is your middle name? Rae. If you remember last week's post, I mentioned that my Dad wanted to spell my name Caelea. Wouldn't that be soooo confusing if my name was Caelea Rae? Imagine spelling that for someone๐
